The Season of the Witch (Troy Taylor); By far the best, and most detailed book,
on the famous Bell Witch case of Adams, TN I have ever read. Taylor offers the
reader historical facts on the legend, ideas on who the Bell Witch may have been,
or what it may have been.  He also supplies the reader with recent witness
accounts in the Bell Witch Cave.  I would recommend this book to anyone
interested, or as fascinated by the Bell Witch case as I am. This book can be
purchased at the official website for the
American Ghost Society,
www.prairieghosts.com
, or at www.amazon.com.
Windy City Ghosts (Dale Kaczmarek): The Chicago author offers a collection of
haunts, from his region, to the reader. This book supplies information and
historical facts on each haunted location.  It offers addresses to most of the haunts
listed in the book, along with black and white photographs of each site.  What
makes this book exceptional reading is the fact it is written by a local author.
Someone who is extremely familiar with each haunt listed, and not simply well
researched on the haunt itself. I personally have been impressed with most of this
author's publications and articles.  For anyone wishing to read up on Chicago
haunts, there are a handful of choices on the market, but this book stands out as
my recommended choice. It can be found in the Haunted America Catalog at
www.prairieghosts.com or amazon.com.
Haunted Kansas (Lisa Hefner Heitz): Kansas was my home for many years, and
where I got my start in paranormal research.  It is in this state that I went on
some of my first investigations. This book is, by far, the best collection of Kansas
related haunts I have ever read.  Heitz includes local lore, and factual information
on each haunt.  She portrays a very accurate account of how local folklore
becomes embedded in a rural or suburban society. I would recommend this book
ahead of many for the quality of research put into it, and for those seeking
information on Kansas haunts. It is available at
amazon.com.
